What the County says
Miami-Dade County states that mechanics must demonstrate competency through testing and complete 16 hours of continuing education every year. Mechanics, technicians, apprentices, and repair shops have distinct registration obligations. Apprentices work under the direct supervision of a certified mechanic or technician.
Do not confuse an individual renewal with a repair-shop registration renewal. Confirm your category and current documents directly with the County.
